Rock and Trail is your information basecamp for news, regional beta, trip reports, reviews on sweet gear, and the personal ramblings of Eric Gentry, Asa Kusuma, and Colter Lane. Originally from Texas, we certainly have a local flavor, but our coverage extends beyond the Lone Star State. While we’re crazy about the outdoors, we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We’re just a trio of adventure junkies that want to share our experiences. We hope you enjoy our good ideas and learn from our bad ones.

Asa Kusuma
Asa KusumaOriginally from Northern Virginia, Asa is a mountain biker and computer science student living in Abilene, Texas. While his main outdoor passion involves two wheels, he’s also an avid rock climber and backpacker. When he’s not riding the manliest pink trail bike on the planet, he’s often busy on his computer getting his geek on.
Eric GentryCurrently a graduate student at Abilene Christian University, Eric’s primary hobby (obsession according to his wife) is rock climbing. He spends way too much time watching climbing videos and checking blogs. He has just completed the first draft of the Lake Brownwood climbing guide, and believes Texas limestone is some of the best.
Colter LaneA Montana boy born and bred, Colter is living the life worthy of any self respecting mountain bum: skiing and climbing the peaks of the north all while bumming in his parents basement. A constant dabbler, he aspires to be writer, chef, yogi, wine connoisseur, machinist, and guitar wizard in all his spare time. He plans to go back to school someday soon.
